I've always loved the outdoors, but it wasn't until a year after Covid that I went on my first thru-hiking trip. I spent a week in Yosemite, trekking alone up Half Dome and around the park, getting lost both literally and figuratively somewhere north of El Capitan until I eventually emerged from the woods and hitchhiked back to my car.

It wasn't exactly a photo finish. But it opened up a whole new world to me. I became obsessed with hiking and planning more trips to Grand Canyon, Glacier, Zion....and then in 2024 I had an idea for a product that would make the experience even better: The Rainy Day Tent Kit. I made the first prototypes in my home office and my garage, experimenting with dozens of materials and techniques until after several hundred iterations, I had it: a super lightweight, easy to use system that let you setup any set of tent poles independently from your tent, so you could get the rainfly up first and keep your tent dry.

Hero Hiker has one main product today, but we are are committed to inventing more and have several great ideas in the pipeline. We are not interested in selling products that already exist; we want to improve the hiking and camping experience by creating new solutions to existing problems, primarily serving the needs of backpackers and adventure enthusiasts.
