I've always loved the outdoors, but it wasn't until a year after Covid that I went on my first thru-hiking trip. I spent a week in Yosemite, trekking alone up Half Dome and around the park, getting lost both literally and figuratively somewhere north of El Capitan until I eventually emerged from the woods and hitchhiked back to my car.

It wasn't exactly a photo finish. But it opened up a whole new world. I became obsessed with backpacking and planning more trips to Grand Canyon, Glacier, Banff....and then in 2024 I started making products to make the experience even better. 

Hero Hiker is committed to inventing products that aren't available in your local REI, serving the needs of backpackers and adventure enthusiasts.
